"A pilgrimage west digs the roots of California surfing and taps it's source. Jesse Timm and Kevin Connelly showcase a contemporary flare, hot on heels and high kicks - hats off forever tipped reverent to longboard surfing staples; style, trim and positioning. Interview excerpts spin a good yarn and attest to surfing legend and heritage."
Jimy Newit, Pacific Longboarder Magazine Surf Film Reviewer

"'Going With The Flow: Classic California Soul Surfing' mixes a melting pot of different topics - interviews touch on technique, boardshaping, localism, ocean knowledge and surf evolution.

With interviews and surf footage, the film provides a smooth ride for surfers young and old."
Kehau Cerizo, Today's Local News

"It’s a surf movie and aims to be a perfect ride: harmonious and tranquil; the basis for a legend but also a tribute to the old gods; long enough to satisfy, but short enough to taste transience; and a way to appreciate both oneness and rebellion in a single instant."
J.R. Wick, Film Critic

"A great little flick."

Synopsis:

Join Mike Trzinski, the average joe surfer, who works a regular job, has a family and enjoys surfing to help him attain the much needed focus required to live a happy, balanced, and successful life.

By being a surfer Mike enjoys traveling to wave rich destinations. For this trip he chooses Southern California due to it being the roots of the modern surfing culture. During his trip he wants to emerse himself in the area to more fully understand what it means to be a surfer in the United States.

Upon his stoked arrival in Southern California his friend, Chad Dawson, introduces him to two of the best classic style longboarders, Jesse Timm and Kevin Connelly.

Jesse and Kevin share their love and knowledge of surfing with him through stylish, classic style longboarding, world class surf spots, and enjoy some good stories with Surfing Legends Linda Benson, Lance Carson, LJ Richards, Henry Ford, Hank Warner, son of Dewey Weber, Cory and friends met along the way.

Narrative about family, surfing style, surfboard evolution, surfing population and ethics, environmental concerns, inspiration, and personal growth are all sprinkled throughout the film. Not only Mike but the viewer is left enriched by the experience and left wanting to grab a surfboard, head down to their nearest beach capable of producing surfable waves, and become apart of the surfing heritage.
